Spring Planting

It’s now time to get your cool season edibles in the ground!  Peas should generally be planted as early as President’s Day (mid-February), but it’s not too late.  Also try planting carrots, onions, swiss chard, and other greens.  Seed packets are so inexpensive, and many are on sale right now for 75 cents a packet.  You can save a lot of money on groceries for very little time and maintenance.

Be sure to plan ahead and start your warm season crop seeds indoors for transplanting later.  This allows a good long growing season and more eating!  Herbs are a great thing to start indoors; try basil.
