Approaching Spring

Just a couple more weeks and we’ll officially be immersed in spring!  It seems all the plants think spring has arrived about a month early this year – look at everything in bloom!  Also, be aware of those plants with lovely fragrances this time of year.  They are definitely worth stopping to smell.

If you have a garden, it’s time to get some cool season crops in the ground such as cabbage, beets, chard, broccoli, carrots, peas, garlic, onions, and other greens.  If you don’t have a garden, you can plan a small container of flowers or herbs to keep on a porch or near a front door.  A container is easy to maintain, and there are plenty of benefits!

Also, I urge you to get out often for short walks this time of year.  The air is great, the birds are singing, and if you look around, you’ll notice how *alive* everything is, including yourself!
